THE BACKGROUND

INTEGRAS is designed for 2 fictional personas: Mark and Alice, an international couple with one child. In 2019 They decided to live in Repulse Bay Hong kong. Repulse Bay being a beautiful seaside location on the edge of HK connected to the city center just with busses. Alice and Mark both work in HK, flying frequently for work. INTERGAS could finally unlock the flexibility for a previously difficult to reach lifestyle, with just one car per family, lower insurance costs and less stressful driving.

The Interiors are designed around the concept of freedom and great outdoors. On the way to an important meeting, or after a long day of work, Alice and Mark wants to be immerse on a space that feels less man made and more natural. An experience to gently transition from the focus and adrenaline of a demanding daily schedule to the family and relaxing time of the evening. Wood grain, soft leather with the deeps green of a rainforest and the colour of limestone and sand. A particular eye for car sharing is been used while designing the backseats. Flexible partitioning are designed to rise from the front seats to increase or decrease privacy, depending on the guests.

A control center is been designed to be operated remotely via smartphone. You can decide to share INTEGRAS with family members, friends or with a selected group of drivers. This possibility drastically reduce the time of inactivity for the vehicle and helps to monetize the unused time. You can offcourse decide to use INTEGRAS as delivery bay, so you can find your grocery already on the car when driving home. If you are low on charge, or you need to quikly fix a fault, you can send the car for servicing or recharge while busy and find it again where you left it.

The body-work is intended to be contemporary and sharp, yet technology is not on the center stage. Lines are dynamic, crisp and sporty but with a classic feel. INTEGRAS is designed for a longer lifespan and high quality solutions to stand the test of time. The infotainement is a draft examble but the choice of a tablet like interface underline the ability to upgrade what inevitably will become obsolete and aloud to push on air updates.

SOME FINAL REFLECTION

While designing the car body and interiors is a lot of fun, the true potential of the project was reflecting on the future of mobility. Being forced to think about the implication of autonomous driving, AI, electric propulsion, while making the consequential design decision, it is clear there is a titanic body of work, potentially far more interesting on the way we think CITIES ITSELF and the economics of purchasing a car. The convergence of new ways to deliver goods, new sources of energy new computational capabilities and the changes into society itself are challenging the way infrastructure are built and how they will transition between a word of combustion engine and human driving to a world of EV with autonomous driving capabilities.
